Monica Sylvia Douglas is an unsung barbadian hero who played a key role in creating the first diabetic association of Barbados at the Black Rock Polyclinic. In spite of her meager earnings, she always had love for those in need and opened her door to many over the years.

As a matriarch, her tenacity, drive and vibrant personality saw her through many adversities including the sudden and complete loss of her sight. Her contagious effervescence, determination and strength uplifted, encouraged and inspired those around her.

We at the Boundless Education and Empowerment Fund are happy to create this scholarship in honor of Ms. Monica Sylvia Douglas.
